1. Nov 06,  · In case you're not familiar with Sabicas (), he was one of the greatest flamenco guitarists of the 20th century and a major influence on all his successors, most notably Paco de Lucía. Around the end of the '50s, he recorded three albums for the Elektra label, known to aficionados simply as Sabicas Volumes 1, 2 & /5(4).

3. La Farruca Flamenco Guitar “La Farruca” is a style of flamenco music. It may be performed with lyrics (vocals) and as most flamenco styles in can also be danced to. It is played in 4/4, interpreted at a relative slow tempo and accompanied by melody and harmony defining an aeolian key.

Here’s guitar # from our celebration of luthier Pepe Romero Jr.‘s th guitar at the Guitar Salon International showroom. # is a cedar and cypress guitar with mechanical pegs, which Pepe Sr. used to premiere Torroba’s ‘Concierto en Flamenco’ featuring themes from Sabicas’ music. Pepe Sr. plays some of Sabicas’ Farruca for us.

6. Volumes 1 & 2 have now appeared on CD together as La Guitarra Flamenca, and Volume 1 is also on The Greatest Flamenco Guitarist. UPDATE The Elektra discography says: "According to Jac Holzman in FTM ] there were three sessions for this LP before Sabicas and Elektra were satisfied with the results.5/5(7).
